Why hello there!  I was searching around on the interwebs last night and stumbled across an amazing youtube channel: ZuzkaLight.  She is a co-founders of the uber-pinned Bodyrock.tv website and has since parted ways with the site, but started out on her own and has some amazing workouts for FREE on youtube.  It definitely got me excited to get back into strength training and was just what I needed to kick me out of my rut.

So today I did Week 5 Day 2 of Couch to 5k (has it already been that long?!) and then did one round of this ZuzkaLight video.  For some reason it seemed like a good idea to try it last night, but it was HARD.  I thought I would be able to take my time and do the two reps like she did (even if it took me an hour), but after one rep I didn’t feel like I could do anymore safely!  But it felt great to do some strength again and using nearly zero equipment was pretty cool.  I did some light ab work after to make up for not doing the second rep, and I’ve been trying to do a few planks (for as long as I can hold it) during commercial breaks just to keep the momentum going.

My food lately has been pretty simple, mostly the frozen “healthy prepared foods” because they are easy and require zero effort or planning or some form of eggs and toast… And we have an abundance of those frozen meals since Jason is taking a crash course in healthier eating and we’re taking baby steps in portion control… So far so good though!  But for lunch I decided to make some real food.  I cooked some frozen chicken breasts with some bbq sauce, steamed some frozen broccoli cuts with peas and carrots and whipped up some toasted pine nut couscous (from a box).

It was good, but really made me realize that I need to try some new recipes… And go grocery shopping.

After lunch Jason and I took a 2 mile walk; he even wanted to run a little bit and although my body was tired I couldn’t say no.  After the walk I was starting to get a little hungry again (and I’m trying to make sure that I eat enough calories because I accidentally skip breakfast more than I should) so I had a sprouted grain english muffin with a mashed banana and a little almond butter… Now I’m lounging around watching Hallmark movies and wondering what to eat for dinner.  It’s a great way to spend a Saturday night! lol  Until next time!
